[BlueStacks] How to transfer files between BlueStacks and your PC (2 methods are provided)

This video shows you how to transfer files between BlueStacks and your PC. (2 methods are provided)


Software used:

ES File Explorer (free): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop


1. Open the file explorer in BlueStacks. The app i used is "ES File Exploror". You can find the download link in the description.

2. Select the file(s) you want to copy to your PC and click the "Copy" button

3. Go to the location "/mnt/sdcard/bstfolder/BstSharedFol­der" and click the "Paste" button

4. Go to C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\UserData\Share­dFolder in your PC. You will find the file(s) you just copied from BlueStacks.

5. Just paste your PC file(s) to the same location and you can get those files in the BstSharedFolder of BlueStacks.


If you feel uncomfortable to copy and paste the file(s) to the shared location. There is another method to quickly access your PC files if you are in LAN.

1. Open ES File Explorer. Choose Network -> LAN in the left panel of the explorer.

2. Click the "New" button to add a new server location.

3. Enter your PC local IP address, your windows login id and password. Click OK to save setting.


4. Click the server you just created. And you can access all the files in your PC. Enjoy! ^.^

[Genymotion] How to increase video memory and enable 2D / 3D acceleration of virtual devices

This video will show you how to increase video memory and enable 2D / 3D acceleration of virtual devices created in Genymotion


There are a few VM setting in Genymotion, such as memory, screen size, no of CPUs. You need to use the Oracle VM VirtualBox for advance setting of VMs. 

1. Start the Oracle VM VirtualBox

2. Choose the VM you need to config in the left panel of VirtualBox. (Check your Virtual Devices name in Genymotion)

3. Right Click -> Click "Settings..."

4. Choose Display Setting. You can adjust the video memory size and some video setting on this page.

5. Using the slidebar to adjust the video memory (for 2D rendering, max 128MB).

6. Click the "Enable 3D Acceleration" checkbox to enable 3D acceleration in VM. Click OK button to confirm.


7. You can check the video setting has been updated in the main panel of VirtalBox. Enjoy!

[Genymotion] How to allow root access in Genymotion (for the old version of Genymotion)

This video will show you how to allow root access in Genymotion. (New version of Genymotion have root access already)



Software used:




1. You can use Root Checker Basic to check the current status of Genymotion. Start the app and click verify root. It say that this device do not have root access.

2. Now go to Genymotion Configuration. There is an option "Always allow su access (bypass Superuser app)". Select it and click the Save button

3. Click Yes to reboot Genymotion. It takes about 5-10 mins to reboot Genymotion.

4. Check the status again. The checker should display "This device has root access!". Enjoy!

[Android] How to enable / disable Developer options for Android

This video teach you how to enable / disable Developer options for Android (Some Device cannot disable the Developer options because the "clear data" button is dim)



1. To enable Developer options, Go to Setting -> About tablet / About phone

2. Find the "Build number" row in the About page

3. Click the "Build number" row 6 times, The Developer options should be enabled

4. To disable Developer options, Go to Apps

5. In the "ALL" tab, find "Settings"


6. Click the "Clear data" button in the Settings (This button is disabled for some devices, i cannot help you for such case)

7. Go back to the Setting page, the Developer options is disabled

[BlueStacks] How to change the IMEI (Device ID) of BlueStacks

This video teach you how to change the IMEI (Device ID) of BlueStacks (IMPORTANT: ROOTED BlueStacks required)


Method 1:


Software used:


Network Info for Android(free): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.warcry.networkinfoforandroid
(Android Network Info has been renamed to Network Info for Android starting from 01/10/2014)
Guid2IMEI.exe: Search "Guid2IMEI.exe" in Google search



1. Check your BlueStacks IMEI first. The app i used is android network info. You can find the download link in the description.



2. Close BlueStacks and all its running processes (Navigate "C:\Program Files\BlueStacks" or "C:\Program Files(x86)\BlueStacks" (for 64-bit Windows) -> double click "HD-Quit.exe")



3. Run the Guid2IMEI.exe

4. Click the "讀取注冊表" (read the registry) -> 生成GUID (generate GUID) -> 生成IMEI (generate IMEI) -> 寫入注冊表 (update the registry)

5. Start BlueStacks

6. Check the IMEI, it should be updated. ^.^ (BlueStacks change IMEI randomly. The IMEI changed but may not be the same as the exe shown)

BlueStacksIMEIGenerator (v1.0.1.1)(with ads)(Author: Arvin Hsieh): Search "BlueStacksIMEIGeneratorSetup" in Google search


1. You need to download and install a tool called BlueStacks IMEI Generator first. (Search "BlueStacksIMEIGeneratorSetup" in Google search)(Author Arvin Hsieh)

2. Start the BlueStacks IMEI Generator after installation.

3. Select x86 or x64 at the lower right corner according to your Windows Version (32-bit or 64-bit)

4. You need to setup the BlueStacks location for the first time you use this software. Select 檔案 (Files) -> 設定(Setting)

5. Click 瀏覽(View) to choose the BlueStacks 路徑(Path of BlueStacks)

6. Choose "HD-StartLauncher.exe" in your BlueStacks folder (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\BlueStacks\HD-StartLauncher.exe)

7. You can add the Category you like in the 分類(Category) (e.g. Game1, Game2 ....). Choose 儲存(Save) after completed.

8. Click 變更IMEI(Change IMEI) button to change the BlueStacks IMEI. Click 啟動 BS(Start BS) button to start BlueStacks.

9. Check your BlueStacks IMEI. The app i used is Network Info for Android. You can find the download link in the description.

10. You can record down the current Device ID in the Remark column if needed.

How to restore a saved IMEI?
11. Quit BlueStacks by clicking the 關閉 BS(Close BS) button.

12. Now, I will show you how to restore the saved IMEI. First, generate another IMEI (repeat Step 8-11)

13. Choose the IMEI you would like to restore. Click 載入選擇IMEI(Load the selected IMEI) button.

14. click 啟動 BS(Start BS) button to start BlueStacks again.


15. Check the IMEI again. The IMEI has been restored. Enjoy ^.^.

[Apple] How to create iTunes Store account without credit card (using iTunes on PC)

This video teach you how to create iTunes Store account (Apple ID) without credit card (using iTunes on PC)


1. Go to the iTunes Store by clicking the iTunes Store button in the upper-right corner of the window. (iTunes Store -> Sign In...)

2. In the iTunes Store, click any link that includes the word "Free,". When you find a free item, click Free beneath its icon. (Google Search in my example)

3. When you're asked to sign in with an Apple ID, click "Create Apple ID" button.

4. Follow the iTunes screen instruction to input your personal information

5. In the "Provide a Payment Method" page, you will find that "None" is selected by default. (Choose None if not). After input the necessary information and verified your email, you will have an account without credit id.

[BlueStacks] How to increase the memory size (RAM size)??


This video teach you how to increase the BlueStacks RAM size to maximum (1024MB currently).




1. To check your BlueStacks RAM size currently (Start BlueStacks -> Settings -> Apps -> Running)

2. Close BlueStacks and all its running processes (Navigate "C:\Program Files\BlueStacks" or "C:\Program Files(x86)\BlueStacks" (for 64-bit Windows) -> double click "HD-Quit.exe")

3. Go to windows Registry Editor (Click Start -> Run -> Type "regedit")

4. In the Registry Editor, go to the following path " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BlueStacks\G­uests\Android "

5. On the right panel of Registry Editor, select Memory -> right click and choose Modify

6. Change the Base option to Decimal mode. Input the value you want to allocate in MB. (BlueStacks support max size 850MB currently, input 1024 and the BlueStacks RAM size will be increased to 850 MB).

7. Start BlueStacks again and check the RAM size again. The total RAM size will be increased to 850MB totally ^.^

[BlueStacks] How to Skip Graphics Drivers check in BlueStacks

Your Graphics Drivers seem to be out-of-date. BlueStacks requires updated drivers to run. Update now?




This video teach you how to skip the graphic driver check while starting Bluestacks App Player.


1. Go to windows Registry Editor


2. In the Registry Editor, go to the following path " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BlueStacks\G­uests\Android\Config "

3. On the right panel of Registry Editor, right click and choose New -> DWORD Value

4. Rename DWORD to "SkipGraphicsDriverCheck"

5. Right Click the new added DWORD and choose Modify. Change the value to "1" and confirm

6. Restart BlueStacks and the graphics driver check has been skipped ^.^
